Zvia Schoenberg is the Executive Director of the Grunin Center for Law and Social Entrepreneurship at NYU School of Law. She has a diverse background that spans corporate law, education law, and social entrepreneurship.
Education and Early Career
Schoenberg earned her Juris Doctor (JD) from NYU School of Law in 1997, where she served as co-Editor-in-Chief of the Environmental Law Journal. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis, with a double major in Spanish and Near Eastern Studies.
She began her career as a corporate lawyer at Fried Frank before transitioning to education law, where she worked with the NYC Department of Education and Edison Schools. Over a 15-year legal career, she contributed to significant projects such as being part of the legal team for New York State's first charter school, the Sisulu-Walker Charter School.
Leadership Roles
Schoenberg has held various management positions in growth-stage organizations within the education sector. Notably, she served as President of Enactus United States, an organization promoting social entrepreneurship on college campuses. Additionally, she was CEO of A-List Education, where she led initiatives to adapt services to a virtual environment during the COVID-19 pandemic and expanded college advising services.
Community Involvement
Beyond her professional roles, Schoenberg has been active in community-building efforts within the startup ecosystem. She co-chaired EdTech Women NYC, helped establish the NYC chapter of 1 Million Cups, and contributed to launching Ed3 DAO, which focuses on reimagining education through web3 technologies.
Personal Life
Schoenberg resides in Princeton, NJ, with her husband and two daughters, along with their dog named Felix.123
