Yubin Kim is a technology leader with a strong research background in information retrieval, natural language processing, and machine learning. She has a PhD from the Language Technologies Institute at Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Software Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Kim has worked as a Senior Data Scientist and Director of Technology at UPMC Enterprises, a major IDFS healthcare organization, where she led machine learning, NLP, and search teams. She has also worked as an intern at Microsoft Research and as a research assistant at both Carnegie Mellon and the University of Waterloo. Kim has experience in solving complex problems in search efficiency, evaluation, and ranking using search, crowdsourcing, and machine learning tools.
