Yasyf Mohamedali

Yasyf Mohamedali is the Co-Founder and CEO of Sym, a platform designed to streamline security workflows for engineers, particularly in regulated industries like healthcare and finance. Under his leadership, Sym aims to empower developers by providing tools that address unique security and compliance needs, thereby closing the gap between intent and implementation in application security.12
Before founding Sym, Yasyf served as the Chief Technology Officer at Karuna Health from July 2017 to February 2020. He has also gained experience through roles at First Round Capital, Flux, and Hi From The Other Side. His early career included internships at notable companies such as Facebook, Jane Street, and Square.12
Yasyf holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he also contributed to the academic community by teaching a graduate course on compilers. His educational background is complemented by numerous accolades, including recognition in Forbes' 30 Under 30 list in 2020 and Inc.'s 30 Under 30 in 2019.134
