Director - e-Mobility at EcoG
Xi Zhang is the Director of e-Mobility at EcoG, a position they have held since May 2020. With a strong background in electric mobility, Xi Zhang has been instrumental in advancing e-mobility interoperability and system architecture at EcoG. They have coordinated standardization activities in various organizations, including ISO, IEC, and SAE, across Europe and North America since 2013.123
Education and Early Career
Xi Zhang earned a Ph.D. in Electrical, Electronic, and Communications Engineering Technology from RWTH Aachen University, where they studied from 2007 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Imperial College London (2003-2007). Their early career began in 2007 as a Research Assistant at RWTH Aachen University, focusing on wireless sensor networks and cognitive radio applications.1
Professional Experience
Before joining EcoG, Xi Zhang worked at Siemens as a Research Scientist and later became the Head of a Research Group. In this role, they defined research roadmaps, managed teams, and contributed to e-mobility standardization efforts, including the publication of the International Standard ISO 15118-8::no-wrap[2018.124]
At EcoG, Xi Zhang continues to leverage their expertise in electric mobility to enhance charging infrastructure, aiming for a future where EV charging is seamlessly integrated into daily life.2
