William Tarpeh

William Tarpeh is a dedicated chemical and environmental engineer focusing on resource recovery from waste, sustainable sanitation access, and promoting diversity in engineering.

He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minor in African Studies from Stanford University, a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from UC Berkeley.

Currently, William Tarpeh serves as an Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering department at Stanford University School of Engineering.

Prior to his current role, he gained experience as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan and worked in various capacities such as a Calculus Instructor, Systems Engineering Intern at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, Teacher at Centre of Science and Technology, Intern at Sarar Transformacion, Genomics Researcher at the School of Medicine at University of Maryland, Baltimore, among other roles.

William Tarpeh has a diverse background having also served as a Peer Tutor at Stanford University, an Independent Researcher at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, and a Research Assistant at the University of Connecticut.
