William Pomerantz

Experienced Aerospace Executive and Board Member

William Pomerantz is an experienced aerospace executive currently serving as the Head of Space Ventures at AeroVironment, a position he has held since October 2023. In this role, he is responsible for leading a new business unit focused on innovative aerospace technologies, including the team that contributed to the development of NASA's Mars helicopter, Ingenuity.1 2

Before joining AeroVironment, Pomerantz was the Vice President of Special Projects at Virgin Orbit from March 2017 to April 2023, where he played a key role in managing the LauncherOne program and overseeing the company's brand and culture. His previous experience also includes significant positions at Virgin Galactic and XPRIZE, where he was involved in the management of various space-related projects and technology prizes.1
