William Mao

William Mao is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the sports broadcast industry. As Vice President of Octagon's Global Media Rights Consulting division, he advises on media distribution deals and brand expansion opportunities for sports properties. William is recognized as an expert on sports and digital media and has won numerous awards throughout his career, including the "30 Under 30" in Sports by Forbes in 2015, SportsPro Media's '10 NEXT in Sport' award, and Cynopsis Media Rising Star award. He has also spoken as a panelist at various events and is a member of the Sports Video Group's Digital Advisory Committee.

William went to London Business School for his MBA, where he focused on Strategy. He served as the President of the London Business School Student Association, where he led an executive team that managed an annual operating budget of over £1 million. Prior to his MBA, William spent four years as a Management Consultant with Novantas LLC and held positions with IMG and Masterplan Group International.

William completed his undergraduate studies at Yale University, where he earned a BA in Psychology with Honors. He is fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and Spanish and is originally from Los Angeles.
