Villy Wang is a prominent social entrepreneur and the President of the San Francisco Film Commission, a role she has held since July 2016, after serving as Vice President in 2014 and 2015. The Film Commission's mission is to promote San Francisco as a prime location for film and media production, aiming to stimulate economic development and create job opportunities within the city.1
In addition to her work with the Film Commission, Villy Wang is the Founder, President, and CEO of BAYCAT, an organization dedicated to advancing racial and economic equity through media production. Since its inception in 2001, BAYCAT has focused on empowering underrepresented youth by providing them with training and job opportunities in digital media arts. The organization has successfully launched careers for over 200 young adults and has served thousands more through its educational programs.12
Wang is also recognized as a TED speaker and has received several accolades for her contributions to community service, including the Jefferson Award for Public Service in 2016.
