Vicki Nakashima is a prominent community advocate and a member of the Board of Directors at Mary's Woods, a senior living community located in Lake Oswego, Oregon. She has a rich history of public service, having retired from her role as the director of multicultural health for the Oregon Department of Human Services. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her contributions to the community, including being named "Most Honored Elder" by the Asian Reporter Foundation in 2016.15
As a third-generation Japanese American, Vicki's family history includes significant experiences during World War II, with many of her relatives being interned. She has been actively involved in various organizations, including serving on the Partners in Diversity Leadership Council and the American Leadership Forum of Oregon.13 Her commitment to community service extends to her role on the board of Mary's Woods, where she contributes to advancing the mission and development of the organization.25
In addition to her board responsibilities, Vicki enjoys golfing and participates in local golf tournaments. Her dedication to community service and leadership has earned her numerous accolades throughout her career.14
