John Leonard

John Leonard is a seasoned leader who has contributed to the public, private, and nonprofit sectors throughout his career. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Affairs from The George Washington University and pursued a Master of Arts in Government/Public Policy from Cornell University. A strong advocate for diversity, sustainability, and technology, he leverages his skills and expertise to develop and execute innovative strategies that aim to engage stakeholders, inspire action, and make a meaningful impact for employees, companies, customers, and communities.

John has held numerous notable positions in different organizations, including his current role as Head of Diversity and Social Impact at Optimizely. Prior to this, he served as Senior Program Manager and Program Manager of Optimizely.org. He also worked at Code for America as a Senior Manager of Government Programs, Better World Advertising as Senior Vice President, williamsworks as Director of Public Affairs, and the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods as a Strategic Advisor/District Coordinator. Additionally, John founded and served as Executive Director of Gay City Health Project.
