Valerie Red-Horse Mohl, of Cherokee ancestry, is the CFO of East Bay Community Foundation, leading initiatives focused on mission-aligned investments, impact investing, racial equity, and diverse manager selections. With over 25 years of experience in financial services, she has a unique expertise in Native American tribal government finance. She is also the CEO/founder of Red-Horse Financial Group, Inc.
Valerie has raised over $3 billion in capital and holds multiple FINRA registrations. She is a former Executive Director of Social Venture Circle and CEO/founder of Red-Horse Native Productions, producing documentaries on important but overlooked topics. She is currently working on the Wilma Mankiller documentary for PBS.
Valerie Mohl is the Advisory Board Chair of Stanford University’s Center for the Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity. She teaches courses on Entrepreneurship for Social Impact and Racial Equity at Stanford, aiming to empower and train future diverse founders. Valerie was inducted into the NAWBO Hall of Fame in 2008. She holds a B.A. from UCLA and has founded nonprofit ministries on tribal reservations nationwide. Valerie Mohl is married to former NFL professional Curt Mohl, and they have three children.
