Equity Investment Officer
Valeria Gelsi is the Equity Manager at Oikocredit, a social impact investor and worldwide cooperative.14 She joined Oikocredit in 2010 and has since taken on various roles within the organization.1 As Equity Manager, Valeria manages a portfolio of equity investments, leads regional teams, and collaborates with Regional Directors to promote Oikocredit's strategic objectives in Latin America.1 She is based in Uruguay.1

Valeria has a strong educational background, holding a Master in Management and Costs from the University of Uruguay and a degree as a Public Accountant.1 She has also taught Management Accounting at the University of Uruguay (UDELAR).1 Additionally, she has education from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.3
In her role, Valeria has been involved in significant investments, such as Oikocredit's stake acquisition in Avante, a Brazilian FinTech offering financial services to micro-entrepreneurs.2 She continues to play an active role in supporting and strengthening Oikocredit's equity investments in Latin America.5
