Tsuyoshi Sakamoto is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in mechanical engineering, business development, management restructuring, and academic-industry collaboration.
With 7 years of experience as a mechanical engineer at two large corporations, Sakamoto transitioned to venture companies where he excelled as a manager overseeing business development and management restructuring.
In 2004, he shifted his focus to the academic-industry collaboration sector, joining Kyushu University as the IMAQ Start-up Support Department Director.
Sakamoto played a pivotal role in advising faculty members, students, and officials on company setup within the Start-up Support Department before assuming the presidency of Kyushu TLO.
During his tenure at Kyushu TLO, he significantly contributed to its success for 4 years before transitioning to self-employment as a consultant specializing in industry-academic collaboration.
He also held the position of advisor at Kyushu TLO, leveraging his expertise in technology management and business incubation.
Sakamoto holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kyushu University (1989) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Kyushu University Business School (2008).
