Tony Hodgson

Tony Hodgson is the CEO and Managing Principal of Brainwaive LLC, where he advises enterprise clients and technology startups on various aspects of emerging technology, including mobile computing, cybersecurity, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), and the Internet of Things (IoT) among others. He has over 30 years of experience in the IT and emerging technologies sectors.

Hodgson's career began as a spacecraft engineer, and he has since founded and sold three award-winning software and IT service companies. He has held significant roles in major telecommunications firms, such as MCI and Verizon Wireless, where he managed global accounts and worked on a range of applications from wireless to cloud computing. Additionally, he served as the Development Director for the Houston Technology Center, one of the largest incubators in the U.S., and has been involved in various technology meetup groups.

In terms of education, Hodgson studied Mechanical Engineering and Computer-Aided Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington, and Engineering Technology at Texas A&M University, with coursework towards a Master's in Mechanical Engineering at Rice University. He is also an author and has led teams in developing IEEE standards. His interests include serious games, commercial aerospace development, and the concept of The Singularity.123
