Tong Thao

Tong Thao is an experienced Advocacy Associate who worked at Airbnb from June 2020 to October 2021. In this role, he focused on leveraging relationships with advocates, regulators, and policymakers to develop innovative policy solutions addressing the challenges posed by emerging technologies. His expertise includes policy analysis, community building, and civic engagement, reflecting a commitment to ensuring that technology serves the public interest.1

Prior to his position at Airbnb, Thao served as a Community Organizer with the company from November 2015 to June 2020. He has also held significant roles such as Policy Programs Manager at Meta and Outreach Specialist at the California Department of Justice.12 Thao holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from California State University-Sacramento, which he completed between 2008 and 2013.12
