Tim Romero

Tim Romero, a Tokyo-based entrepreneur, author, and educator, has been working with startups and larger companies in Japan for more than 25 years. He is currently the CTO of TEPCO Ventures, where he helps develop new markets using technology. Romero is also a lecturer at New York University, a Forbes contributor, and the host of the Disrupting Japan podcast, which focuses on Japanese startups, innovation, and market entry.
Romero studied BS in Physics at the University of Virginia and has founded several companies since moving to Japan. He's involved in the country's startup community as an investor, founder, and mentor. Romero was also formerly the Head of Google for Startups Japan at Google and the Representative Director of Japan at Engine Yard. He was a Senior Advisor for Market Entry & Intrapreneur at SunBridge Inc. and held various positions at Digital Garage, Zurich Insurance, and Tora Trading Services.
