Tim McCormick is a seasoned professional with over 35 years of software industry experience encompassing marketing, sales, and business development across various sectors such as enterprise software, information security, energy management, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) businesses.
Throughout his career, Tim has been involved in 13 startups as well as large technology companies, including his consulting practice, where he played a pivotal role in 9 venture round investments totaling over $46M, an IPO and secondary round worth $228M, 8 buy-side acquisitions totaling $312M, and 3 successful exits to Public technology companies and 1 exit to a Tier 1 PE firm amounting to $2.2B.
Notably, Tim served as the CEO of SaaSOptics, a rapidly expanding financial operations platform catering to more than 1,200 B2B SaaS businesses globally. Under his leadership, SaaSOptics secured over $15M in venture capital funding and orchestrated a significant growth investment from Battery Ventures amounting to over $150M, which also benefited subscription billing leader, Chargify. Together, the combined entity now serves 2,300 global B2B SaaS customers.
Prior to his role at SaaSOptics, Tim held the position of Vice President, Sales and Marketing at JouleX, a cloud-based energy management platform, and played a key role in its successful acquisition by Cisco Systems for $107M in 2013. He continued to contribute as Director, Sales Operations at Cisco Systems until 2015.
Additionally, Tim was a founding member and Vice President of Marketing at Internet Security Systems (ISS), a prominent Intrusion Prevention and Managed Security Solution provider. He significantly contributed to ISS' growth from $250K in 1995 to over $250M in 2004, culminating in a successful IPO and eventual acquisition by IBM for $1.9B.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Operations Management from the University of Delaware and has been affiliated with various esteemed organizations such as Atlanta Growth Collective and VoApps, Inc. among others.
