Tom's career began with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Wayne State University. He then went on to study Educational Leadership and Administration at Prairie View A&M University, where he completed his Master of Science degree.

Tom's career spans more than three decades, with many leadership positions throughout his career. He has served as Chairman and CEO/President at EC Group International, President at Heart Line, President/CEO at Delta Health Care, and Community Corrections at Dallas County, to name a few.
