Renita D. Alexander, known as The Leadership Renita D. Alexander, is a seasoned professional with over 26 years of experience in the United States Air Force (AF) and a strong background in leadership.
Renita's leadership journey began in her early years as the oldest among her siblings and cousins, teaching her valuable lessons about responsibility and the importance of relationships in leadership.
Coming from a southern upbringing, Renita learned the significance of leading herself and being aware of the environment she operates in, despite societal expectations and limitations placed on girls and women at the time.
Throughout her career in the AF, Renita underwent training and real-world experiences that shaped her leadership style and emphasized the necessity for continuous learning in leadership roles.
Being often the only woman, Black person, or Black woman in professional settings, Renita discovered the strength in her uniqueness and authenticity, which empowered her to navigate diverse environments confidently.
Drawing from her rich leadership experiences, Renita founded Leadership Unlocked to help individuals embrace authenticity to lead with confidence and credibility, offering strategy sessions to unlock their leadership potential.
Renita holds a Certified Professional Coach certification from iPEC Coaching, a Master of Strategic Studies from The United States Army War College, a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Webster University, and a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Alabama.
Currently, Renita serves as the Owner of Leadership Unlocked, having authored 'Just Breathe: Leading Myself One Breath at a Time' under the same banner. She has previously worked as an Instructor at The Bar Method and held an Officer position in the United States Air Force.
