Her career journey began as a Java Programmer, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of clients' strategic goals while leveraging her technical acumen as a programmer and consultant. Thao's proficiency extends to programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, Ruby, and JavaScript.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Thao actively advocates for Women in Technology, engaging in activities like presenting in schools through Little Miss Geek and volunteering with Coding Girls. Her educational background includes a BSc in Mathematics from Brunel University London.
