Terry McCarthy

Terry McCarthy is a seasoned leader and communicator with a diverse background in media, entertainment, management, foreign affairs, event planning, and public speaking. He is a graduate of the University College Dublin where he studied German, Philosophy, Greek and Honors, and received an honorary Doctorate in Literature. Terry's experience spans several high-pressure environments, from war zones to international conferences, events with world leaders, and media houses, making him a skilled communicator and leader. He is a former President and CEO of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council and has held roles as correspondent and bureau chief for top media companies including CBS News, ABC News, and TIME Magazine, winning four Emmy Awards and an Edward R Murrow Award. Terry is a compelling storyteller and has excellent fundraising, media training, and event organizing skills. Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer of The American Society of Cinematographers, providing leadership and strategic direction to the organization.
