Founder/CEO at Numina | Cornell Tech Urban Tech Fellow 2024-25
Tara Pham is the co-founder and CEO of Numina, a company focused on creating a privacy-first data utility that helps cities become more responsive to urban mobility needs. Under her leadership, Numina has developed a standalone sensing platform that measures street-level activity, providing valuable data for urban planning and improving transportation equity. The company has deployed its technology in over 50 cities globally and has been recognized as a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer.134
Before founding Numina, Tara worked in various fields including public health, urban design research, and media. She has been involved in numerous city-scale data projects supported by major foundations such as the Knight Foundation and the MacArthur Foundation. Additionally, she is a former Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneur and has participated in several accelerator programs, including 500 Startups and URBAN-X.1235
Tara is also known for her community engagement efforts, such as organizing Sloup, a crowdfunding initiative for grassroots creative projects, and co-hosting Women Who Hardware, which supports women and gender-nonconforming individuals in the tech ecosystem.134
