Sydney Ballard

Sydney Ballard is an aspiring project manager with a keen interest in health tech, biotech, and ed tech projects. Their curiosity lies in the convergence of computer science, biology, medicine, and sociology. Sydney earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Bioinformatics from Duke University, studied Art History, Criticism, and Conservation at MiraCosta College, Biology at Stanford University, and Biomedical Science at Sage Creek High School.

In terms of professional experience, Sydney has an extensive background. They are set to join Microsoft as an Incoming Program Manager Intern. Previously, Sydney held roles such as Executive Board Member at Latinas de RTC with Rewriting the Code, participated in the Leadership, Allyship, and Mentorship Program at Deloitte, and served as Co-Editor-in-Chief at [the space bar], among many other positions. Sydney has been involved with organizations like Duke Catalyst, Rewriting the Code, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Apple, and Duke University, where they were a Bass Connections Fellow and worked as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at Kwatra Lab. Their experiences also include internships at Bionano Genomics, Inc. and Coastal Plastic Surgeons, as well as involvement in programs like RTC Internship Bootcamp, Apple Women in Science & Engineering Mentorship (AWSEM), and Clinical Anatomy Summer Program (CASP) at Stanford University.
