Stuart Conway
Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Oxford
Stuart Conway is a Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Oxford and the E. P. Abraham Cephalosporin Fellow in Organic Chemistry at St Hugh's College, Oxford.1 He serves as an Associate Editor for both the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and ACS Bio & Med Chem Au.123 Conway's research focuses on developing molecular tools to study biological systems, with a particular emphasis on epigenetics and hypoxia.1
Conway completed his undergraduate studies in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Warwick, followed by PhD studies at the University of Bristol.1 He conducted post-doctoral research with Professor Andrew Holmes FRS at the University of Cambridge.1 In 2003, he was appointed as a Lecturer in Bioorganic Chemistry at the University of St Andrews, and in 2008, he joined Oxford as an Associate Professor.1 He was promoted to Full Professor in October 2014.1
In addition to his academic roles, Conway is the Immediate Past President of the Royal Society of Chemistry Organic Division.24 He also serves as the Treasurer of the ACS Division of Medicinal Chemistry.3
