Steve Waterhouse is an experienced risk management leader with a focus on driving a stronger risk management culture and re-building teams. With a career spanning over a decade, he has gained expertise in audit/assurance, operational risk management, AML, and financial crime. Steve is an authentic leader who has led specialist teams as well as larger operational teams while being highly motivated and professional. He has excellent communication and reporting skills that he has developed while presenting to executive risk committees and board audit and risk committees.

Steve has studied Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts (English) at the University of Auckland. He has worked as Head of Strategic and Change Risk at Bank of New Zealand and has previously held several leadership roles like Senior Manager Risk Governance, Senior Manager Enterprise Risk, and Head of Operational Risk and Assurance at Westpac New Zealand Limited.

Steve has also worked as Head of St George Audit and Executive Audit Manager - Institutional & Business Banking at St George Bank. Before that, he worked as a Senior Audit Manager at EY.
