Steve Hoey is a multidisciplinary designer and data analyst with a passion for creating innovative and engaging interactive experiences. With a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University and a diverse background in radio, event production, and teaching, he brings a unique perspective to his work. Steve has designed and developed interactive kiosks for Boston's Museum of Science, a virtual stem cell laboratory for Children's Hospital Boston, and is currently leveraging big data at Akamai Technologies to analyze internet transactions using Hadoop, HBase, Java, Python, and R. He specializes in leading teams and bridging communication gaps between stakeholders and engineers, creating data visualizations using HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, D3.js, R, and GGplot, and manipulating data in Python. Steve values intellectual challenge and learning opportunities, adapting to the latest technologies to deliver high-quality results, and finding creative solutions to complex problems.
