Former publicly elected member and Board Chair of the Multnomah Education Service District (MESD) board of directors, representing all of Multnomah County in the at-large Position 6 for this $81 million public education agency providing instructional, special education, school health and nursing, technology, and other services and programs to Multnomah County students and schools, and beyond. Board Chair for 2016-17 fiscal year - a leadership role which includes agenda setting, public meeting facilitation, communications management, serving as spokesperson for the agency to other elected officials and media outlets, and overall management of seven-person board and district SuperintendentBoard Vice Chair for 2015-16 fiscal yearChair: Superintendent Search Committee (2015-16, managing entire process including 12-member search committee; successfully completed in spring 2016 by hiring Sam Breyer from Centennial School District)Member: Finance Committee and Labor Management Oversight Committees (MESDEA and AFSCME)General manager for my campaign as candidate for Multnomah Education Service District Position 6 At-Large Director. Led a winning campaign, with support from paid and volunteer staff, by raising over $30,000 in seven weeks, earning newspaper and union endorsements (AFSCME, OEA/MESDEA/PAT; Willamette Week; etc) garnering significant support and endorsements from elected and community leaders, and leading a strong get out the vote effort. Earned 34,713 votes (55% of the vote), beating out an incumbent (35%) and one other candidate (10%).

Responsible for wide-ranging program management, infrastructure project oversight, government relations, special events (including the annual "Opening Our Doors!" community cultural festival), development (including corporate and individual giving), media relations/marketing and member/board services. Member institutions include Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Boston Symphony Orchestra, Simmons College, New England Conservatory, etc.
