Stephen Beaudoin is a seasoned arts executive with nearly 20 years of leadership experience across various sectors, including nonprofit, public, and private organizations. He is currently the Executive Director of the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC), having transitioned to this role in September 2022 after serving as the Executive Director of The Washington Chorus (TWC) for three and a half years.
During his tenure at The Washington Chorus, Beaudoin was instrumental in several significant initiatives, including the introduction of dynamic pricing models to enhance concert revenues and the launch of the "Mahogany Initiative," aimed at promoting artists and creators of color. His leadership helped the chorus achieve recognition as a two-time Grammy-winning ensemble and facilitated collaborations with prestigious organizations like the National Symphony Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.123
Before joining TWC, Beaudoin held leadership positions at other notable organizations, including the Maryland Symphony Orchestra and PHAME, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting artists with intellectual or developmental disabilities. His diverse background also includes experience as a professional singer and actor, and he has been recognized by Musical America as one of the music industry's "Top Movers and Shapers".12
