    Stacey Zembrzycki

    Affiliate Assistant Professor, Concordia University

    Stacey Zembrzycki is an Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Department of History at Concordia University, with a focus on modern Canadian oral and public history of ethnic, immigrant, and refugee experiences.

    She is a renowned author, having published 'According to Baba: A Collaborative Oral History of Sudbury’s Ukrainian Community' and co-edited 'Oral History Off the Record: Toward an Ethnography of Practice.' Both works have received accolades, including the 2014 Oral History Association Book Award.

    Zembrzycki is currently leading a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada-funded project called 'Mining Immigrant Bodies,' which delves into the oral history of industry, environment, and health in the Sudbury Region, particularly focusing on postwar immigrant communities.

    Furthermore, she is working on a forthcoming book titled 'Chaperoning Survivors: Telling Holocaust Stories on the March of the Living,' utilizing life story oral history interviews to illuminate how Montreal Holocaust survivors share their testimonies and educate others about the atrocities they experienced.

    In terms of education, she has served as a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow in Oral History at Concordia University and obtained her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Canadian History from Carleton University.

    Aside from her academic positions, Zembrzycki has also held roles such as Adjunct Assistant Professor in the History Department at Concordia University and previously served as a Pedagogical Consultant at Dawson College's Office of Instructional Development.
