Sophia Murillo

Sophia Murillo is an accomplished professional with a strong educational background and extensive experience in law, taxation, and international organizations.

Sophia holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International and European Public Law from Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, demonstrating her expertise in legal matters. She also pursued a Ph.D. in Fiscal and International Taxation as an external researcher at Erasmus University Rotterdam, showcasing her commitment to in-depth knowledge in her field.

With a Licenciatura in Derecho from Universidad de Costa Rica, Sophia has a well-rounded educational foundation that combines both international and domestic perspectives.

Sophia has held various key positions throughout her career, including being a Partner at iitos, where she continues to contribute her legal acumen and strategic insight. Previously, she served as the YIN Representative for Costa Rica at the Young IFA Network (YIN), exhibiting her involvement in international tax matters.

Her experience includes senior roles at renowned organizations such as Ernst & Young, where she worked as a Senior Manager and Manager at seed by EY. Prior to that, she held positions at Asesores Fiscales Corporativos, OECD - OCDE, Arias & Muñoz, and BLP Abogados in tax practices and legal advisory roles.

Sophia's journey in the legal and taxation field began as a Trainee at OECD - OCDE and evolved through various associate and managerial positions at prestigious firms, culminating in her current role as a Partner at iitos.

Her rich professional background, coupled with her academic accomplishments and international exposure, speaks volumes about Sophia's expertise in law, taxation, and organizational management.
