Shibashis (Shiba) Bhowmik

Shibashis Bhowmik is a hardware engineer and the CEO of a US Department of Energy-funded cleantech startup that has received multiple awards.

The startup is focused on developing energy systems solutions to positively impact the lives of over a billion people, aiming to achieve true sustainability, energy equity, access, resiliency, and reliability for all.

Shibashis Bhowmik's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Power Electronics, Energy Systems, and Machine Drives from Oregon State University, an M.S. in Power Electronics and Signal Processing from the same institution, as well as studies at St. Joseph's College in Calcutta.

Throughout his career, Shibashis has held various key positions in renowned organizations such as SineWatts Incorporated, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Element Energy, GreenVolts, Solyndra, SolFocus, Alpha Technologies Inc., and Active Power, handling roles ranging from President & CEO to Research Engineer.

He has also been involved in different capacities at Southwest Research Institute and GM Global R&D, showcasing a rich and diverse professional background in the energy and technology sectors.
