    Sheila James is an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) specialist, award-winning author, videographer, and cultural worker known for her innovative policies and programs in the national, provincial, and municipal levels.

    She currently serves as the Inaugural Director of the Office of Indigeneity, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, and Social Justice at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, focusing on improving equitable care and workforce diversity.

    As the Founder and Executive Director of DEVI (Diverse, Equitable, Vital and Innovative) Consultation and Strategies, she is dedicated to building equitable governance and representative workplaces for various clients.

    With a background as a former Diversity and Inclusion Specialist at the City of Ottawa and Senior Strategic Advisor at the Canada Council for the Arts, her contributions have significantly impacted workforce diversity and cultural landscape transformation in Canada.

    Sheila's educational background includes a Master of Laws (LLM) in Legal Studies from York University - Osgoode Hall Law School, a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing and Theatre from The University of British Columbia, and a B.A. Honours in Music from York University.

    She has held key positions in reputable organizations including the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, DEVI Consultation and Strategies, City of Ottawa, and the Canada Council for the Arts, showcasing her expertise and leadership in the field of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
