Shefik was a cofounder and CEO of U1 Group.  U1 is Australia's longest-standing independent experience consultancy. Founded in 2001, U1 has delivered thousands of projects encompassing Strategy, Human Centred Design, UX, CX, and Design Research delivering shared value to hundreds of clients.

Played key role building the business from ground up, to one, which offered services spanning 34 countries prior to a trade sale of the business to NetRatings.  Shefik was formulative in establishing the strategic direction of key service streams, assisting the company to source 3 rounds of private equity funding which generating over $40 million (AUD). During this period, Shefik pioneered the development of new qualitative techniques and group environments; he also launched Australia’s first (independent) industry benchmark online ratings service (achieving profitability within a mere 18 months).  This same service is now the world's leading online ratings service (today operating under the NetRatings banner).
