Sheba R. Wheeler is a distinguished journalist who became a Pulitzer Prize-nominated reporter before the age of 30, known for her solid 'shoe-leather' journalism, tenacity, and grace under pressure.
She started her career straight out of the University of Iowa's School of Journalism and Mass Communications and landed a staff reporter position at The Denver Post, covering various beats including hard news and lifestyle features.
One of her most noteworthy assignments was covering the Columbine High School shootings in April 1999, which led to The Denver Post winning the 2000 Pulitzer Prize for spot news reporting.
In 2011, Wheeler transitioned to freelance work and established Picture Your World Photography, LLC, where she has created a remarkable body of work in photography and written articles featured in publications like The Wall Street Journal, The Hollywood Reporter, and 5280 Magazine.
Utilizing her storytelling skills, she later transitioned to corporate communications at Dentsu, a prominent advertising agency, where she serves as a communication lead for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
She is also passionate about mental health and well-being, leading initiatives like 'fearLESS: Our Stories Inspire,' which featured key company leaders sharing their experiences with conditions like depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
She is a graduate from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications and has previous experience working at Merkle and as an Office Manager at Dentsu.
