In his role at Meta, Shawn leads a team focused on developing cutting-edge XR (Extended Reality) technologies to create social and immersive experiences.

His expertise lies in perception and software systems tailored for safety-critical sectors like medical, autonomous vehicles, and industrial applications.

Before his tenure at Meta, Shawn founded Northstar Robotics, a start-up specializing in autonomy systems for off-highway vehicles.

Under his leadership, Northstar Robotics successfully launched a fully autonomous snowplow for airport runway maintenance, enhancing efficiency and safety.

Shawn also pioneered the commercialization of the world's first FDA-cleared robot for brain surgery.
