Shaka's educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from McMaster University and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Public Policy from the University of Guelph. In addition, Shaka has studied Design Thinking at BrainStation and Non-Profit and Voluntary Sector Management at Ryerson University.
Furthermore, Shaka has held various positions in the film and entertainment industry as an international programming associate at Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, International Programming Associate, Festival Programming at the Toronto International Film Festival, and Program Director at Regent Park Film Festival.
