Shak Lakhani is the Co-Founder and CEO of Avro Life Science, a biotech company focused on developing skin patches for generic drug delivery. Founded alongside Keean Sarani, Avro Life Science aims to provide innovative solutions for medication delivery, particularly for children and the elderly, using a biopolymer technology that allows for passive transdermal drug delivery without side effects.12
Lakhani began his research in biomaterials at the age of 15 and has since gained recognition in the entrepreneurial space. He was awarded the Thiel Fellowship, which supports young entrepreneurs, and has participated in various startup competitions, including Y Combinator and the Velocity Fund Finals, where he and his team have achieved notable success.23 Avro Life Science operates out of the Velocity Garage startup incubator in Waterloo, Ontario, where it continues to develop its technology.23
