Sean McFarland, a recent graduate of the UC Berkeley / UCSF joint PhD program in Bioengineering, has developed a high-throughput pipeline to robotically assemble stem cells and extract image data using high content fluorescence microscopy. McFarland leverages descriptive statistics and machine learning to study and predict cell behavior in response to various stimuli. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, McFarland is currently applying to jobs in Cambridge, MA, and has a keen interest in improving the human condition at the intersection of people, innovation, and technology. He was a Former CIRM and NSF Predoctoral Scholar, a Graduate Student in Bioengineering at UC Berkeley, and a Microbiology Prep Room Technician at Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
