Sean Lippel

Sean Lippel is a General Partner at FinTech Collective, a venture capital firm based in New York City, where he also serves as the Head of Digital Assets. He leads the firm's initiatives in decentralized finance (DeFi) and has been instrumental in developing its investment strategies in the blockchain and fintech sectors. Lippel joined FinTech Collective in 2015 and has held various roles, including Principal and Director of Investments, before becoming a General Partner in May 2021.124

Before his venture capital career, Lippel spent five years as an investment banker at Credit Suisse, focusing on financial services and technology companies. He is also known for his background as a world-ranked poker player, where he utilized his skills in risk assessment and opportunity evaluation. Lippel's experience in poker includes innovating the practice of "poker staking" online through data analytics.234

Lippel holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business.12
