Sean Gilleran

Sean Gilleran is a Data Scientist with over 5 years of experience in the engineering, energy, and sustainability sectors. He is deeply passionate about utilizing data science to facilitate the shift towards a sustainable economy. Currently, he is actively involved in leveraging advanced modeling and data science techniques to support PG&E's transition towards a sustainable grid.

Sean's technical expertise in data science includes proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, Matplotlib, Bokeh, HoloViews, Datashader), AWS services (EC2, S3, Redshift), SQL, and Tableau. He also follows best practices such as Git version control, model lifecycle development, unit testing, and Agile development.

Sean Gilleran pursued a diverse educational background, including a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Commerce in Corporate Finance and Investment Finance from The University of Western Australia. Moreover, he engaged in a Visiting student program for an MBA at the University of Bern, and earned a Master of Science with a GPA of 4.9/5 from the Joint Nordic Master program in Innovative Sustainable Energy Engineering at both KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Aalto University.

Throughout his career, Sean has held significant roles, such as Expert Data Scientist, Senior Data Scientist, and Data Scientist at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, further enriching his expertise. Additionally, he has experience as a Data Scientist at AutoGrid, a Fellow at Clean Energy Leadership Institute, and as a Civil Engineer at various organizations like Brierty Limited and Rio Tinto.
