Scott Bohachyk
Director of Ocean and Climate Literacy at Ocean Wise
Scott Bohachyk is currently the Director of Seaforestation at Ocean Wise, not the Director of Ocean and Climate Literacy.12 He has been part of the Ocean Wise team for nearly four years, previously leading the Youth and Education team to expand ocean and climate literacy programs across Canada and over 70 other countries.1
Scott holds a Bachelor of Secondary Education from the University of Alberta, a Master of Development Practice from the University of Waterloo, and a Master of Business Administration from Queen's University.1 His career has been dedicated to fighting climate change, with experience in international development and creating opportunities for young Canadians in the green economy.1
In his role as Director of Seaforestation, Scott is working to advance Ocean Wise's efforts to restore 5,000 ha of kelp forests in British Columbia and Chile by 2026.1 He sees tremendous potential in nature-based solutions to address climate and biodiversity crises.1
Scott has secured over $6 million for national climate change education programming and has been instrumental in redesigning Ocean Wise's Education programs and resources.1 He has also represented Canadian civil society at the United Nations Environment Assembly in Nairobi.1
