Dr. Melania Guerra is a skilled professional specializing in climate action, ocean conservation, and sustainable development.
With an impressive academic background, she holds a Ph.D. in Oceanography from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, a Master of Science from the University of California in Digital Signal Processing & Underwater Acoustics, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad de Costa Rica.
Her expertise extends to policy-making, having studied Public Policy and International Relations at Princeton University.
Dr. Guerra has contributed her knowledge and skills to various organizations, serving as a Consultant in Climate & Ocean Science Diplomacy and as an Adjunct Professor in Climate Change Governance at the University for Peace (UPEACE), a UN Mandated institution.
She has also held positions as a Nippon Fellow at the United Nations, a Research Associate at the Applied Physics Lab at the University of Washington, and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Bioacoustics Research Program at Cornell University.
Furthermore, Dr. Guerra has international experience, having worked as an International Co-op/Intern at NASA's Advanced Space Propulsion Lab.
