Sarah O'Toole is a highly trained and experienced actor, director, playwright, and theatre educator based in Galway, Ireland. She received her acting training at Galway Youth Theatre and the prestigious Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin. Continuing her pursuit of excellence in the field, Sarah pursued a Master's degree in Theatre Direction at Middlesex University in London.

During her studies, Sarah had the opportunity to train in the renowned Michael Chekhov technique at the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts in Moscow (GITIS). She further expanded her knowledge by immersing herself in Theatre of the East at ISI in Denpasar, Bali. In 2010, Sarah founded Anam Theatre, a dynamic theatre company where she serves as the Artistic Director. Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Sarah is currently undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at NUI Galway. Her research focuses on exploring the theme of "Haunting Mother Ireland: Feminist Performance and Embodiment from the Irish Literary Revival to the Decade of Commemorations." This demonstrates her keen interest in feminist performance and the exploration of Irish identity within the artistic realm.
