Sarah M. is an accomplished professional with a background in digital scholarship, data services, and scholarly communications. Currently serving as Head of Digital Scholarship at Boston College Libraries, she leads a team dedicated to exploring new tools and supporting teaching and research across various methodologies.
With a strong passion for open access to information and civic data literacy, Sarah is actively involved in initiatives such as Mozilla's Open Leaders program, Endangered Data Week, and the Programming Historian. Her expertise lies in integrating support for collections, digital scholarship, data, and instruction into liaison work.
Sarah holds a Ph.D. in Public History/American Studies from Emory University, an M.A. in American Studies from The University of Alabama, and a B.A. in Classical Civilization from Emory University. Prior to her current role, she has held key positions including Senior Writer/Editor & Content Strategist at Software Engineering Institute | Carnegie Mellon University, Product Education Strategist at Sprout Social, Inc., and Mentor at Open Leaders at Mozilla.
