Santos Aramburo Ana

Ana Santos Aramburo is a prominent figure in the Facultative Scale of Libraries and Archives at the University Complutense of Madrid, having entered through competitive exams in 1992.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Geography and History from the University of Zaragoza, specializing in Art History, and a Diploma in Library Science and Documentation from the Center for Documentary Studies of the Ministry of Culture.

Having started her career at the University of Zaragoza in 1981, she later transitioned to the University Complutense of Madrid in 1982, where she dedicated over 25 years to shaping her professional trajectory.

In March 2007, Ana Santos Aramburo assumed the role of Director of Cultural Action at the National Library of Spain until September 2011.

From September 2011 to May 2012, she served as the Director of the Library of the University Complutense of Madrid, followed by a tenure as the Director General of Libraries and Archives at the Ayuntamiento de Madrid from May 2012 to March 2013.

Since March 2013, Ana Santos Aramburo has been the Director of the National Library of Spain, showcasing her continued commitment to the field.

Her expertise extends to conducting various training courses at different universities and libraries, along with delivering lectures and presentations at professional congresses related to Library Science. Ana Santos Aramburo is also an accomplished author of multiple publications.
