Santiago Alvarez

Santiago Alvarez is a prominent figure in the investment sector, currently serving as a Board Member at Teclogi. He is also the co-founder and Managing Partner at ALIVE Ventures, where he focuses on impact investments across Latin America and Africa. With over 18 years of experience in investments, he has a strong background in sectors such as financial inclusion, energy access, and education.

Prior to his role at ALIVE Ventures, Santiago worked as an Investment Manager at Bamboo Capital Partners, where he was responsible for managing investments in emerging markets. His earlier experience includes positions at ACTIS, where he focused on private equity in the energy sector, and he has also contributed to various microfinance initiatives and consulting projects internationally.

Santiago holds an MBA from the University of Oxford and a Master’s Degree in Poverty Reduction and Development from the University of Birmingham. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia.
