Sanjog Misra

Sanjog Misra is the Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of Marketing and Applied AI at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a position he has held since July 2015. His academic focus is on the application of machine learning, deep learning, and structural econometric methods to analyze consumer and firm decision-making processes. He develops data-driven models to understand consumer choices and investigates firm strategies related to pricing, targeting, and salesforce management.2
Before his tenure at Chicago Booth, Misra was a professor at UCLA Anderson School of Management from 2012 to 2015 and at the Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester from 1999 to 2012. He has also been a visiting faculty member at prestigious institutions such as Cornell University and Stanford University.12
Misra's research has been published in leading academic journals, including Econometrica, The Journal of Marketing Research, and Marketing Science. He has served in editorial roles for several journals and collaborates with various firms to enhance their analytics-based decision-making systems.2 At Booth, he teaches courses on Algorithmic Marketing, aiming to equip students for the evolving landscape of marketing influenced by technology and data analytics.2
