Sanjil Shah

Sanjil Shah is the Managing Partner of Alignvest Student Housing and serves on its Board of Trustees.2 He is also a Managing Partner at Alignvest Management Corporation.23 Shah has a background in finance and real estate, with experience in various leadership roles:

1. Previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of StorageNow Holdings, a self-storage business.12
2. Worked as a Senior Manager at KPMG LLP, specializing in audit and advisory services for publicly-listed technology companies.12
3. Has been an instructor at York University's Schulich School of Business, the University of Toronto, and the Chartered Accountants of Ontario's School of Accountancy.12

Shah holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and is a CPA, CA (Illinois).12 He currently serves as a director on the boards of The Avid Group, Scarborough Health Network, and Transforming Faces.2

Recently, Shah led Alignvest Student Housing REIT through a significant transaction, agreeing to be acquired by Forum REIIF for $1.686 billion, creating the largest student housing platform in Canada.4
