Samuel Skillman

Samuel Skillman is a software engineer at Google Cloud, specializing in HPC systems and solutions architecture. With a background in computational science, he excels in large scale data analysis, cloud computing, and data visualization.

Previously, Samuel led the engineering team at Descartes Labs, where he played a key role in developing a petascale Earth observation analysis platform. Before that, he held roles at Stanford University / SLAC and obtained his Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Samuel has a rich professional history, which includes experiences as a Post-Baccalaureate Researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory, a DOE Computational Science Graduate Fellow in Astrophysics, and a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder.
