Samu Carrión

Samu Fernández Carrión, a native of Vitoria-Gasteiz, holds a degree in Information Sciences from the University of the Basque Country. His journalistic career began with noteworthy internships at RNE, leading to roles spinning records at Radio Gorbea and later transitioning to becoming Chief of Sports, where he covered numerous sporting events at Álava 7 TV, Punto Radio, and El Correo. Concurrently, he pursued another passion, basketball, holding the title of Superior Coach and working extensively in Saski Baskonia's youth system while also coaching various teams in Álava and Euskadi. In February 2008, he joined the esteemed winemaking group La Rioja Alta, S.A. as the Communication Manager. In this role, he engages in writing, tasting, strategic thinking, and active social media presence, reveling in the unique blend of tradition and innovation at the historic company. His dedication and expertise have seen him nominated for the 2018 and 2019 DirCom Awards by Forbes Spain.
