Sam Decker is a seasoned professional with 25 years of experience in B2C, B2B, and B2B2C environments, working for startups and Fortune 50 companies in various capacities including marketing, product development, business development, and executive leadership.
During the initial phase of his career, Sam spearheaded marketing, product, and sales for numerous early-stage startups in California with a focus on direct mail catalog, marketing consulting, online media/community, and web-based telecommunications.
Joining Dell in 1999, Sam managed the consumer website operations, content, design, analytics, and P&L management. His initiatives led to three redesigns, the development of Dell's global online strategy, and the significant growth of the consumer online revenue to over $3.5 billion.
At Dell, Sam also played a pivotal role in launching Dell's Consumer CRM & segmentation group, focusing on vertical markets, retail marketing strategy, CRM & database marketing programs, Hispanic marketing, strategic planning, customer-centricity, and change leadership.
Subsequently, Sam served as the founding CMO for Bazaarvoice Inc., contributing to its rapid growth and recognition in the industry with multiple awards. Additionally, he founded and led Mass Relevance, a SaaS leader in social integration, before its acquisition by Spredfast.
Further expanding his entrepreneurial ventures, Sam founded and acted as CEO of Mass Relevance and played an active role as Chairman of Clearhead, a leader in digital experience optimization, which was eventually acquired by Accenture.
Apart from his operational roles, Sam is also an accomplished author of two marketing books, a sought-after speaker on topics such as leadership and culture, and currently advises CEOs and executive teams, besides being involved in angel investing and board memberships.
Sam's academic background includes studying Business and Marketing at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and Business at Westmont College.
